Huckleberry Island is an island located in Long Island Sound and part of New Rochelle, New York. It lies approximately three-fourths of one mile east of Davids' Island.[1]
In the 19th century local tradition held that the island was the location of the buried treasure of Captain William Kidd, one of the most well known pirates in history.[2]
The island has nesting areas used by colonial waterbirds such as egrets and night herons.[3]
